Many Branches to the Same Tree...
As noted on my background page, I have a doctoral degree in theology as well as a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Should you choose to bring issues of spirituality into our work together, I welcome that interest. On the other hand, it is not my goal to direct the therapy with such issues unless you want to. Please know that I have enormous respect for all the great religious traditions, recognizing there is truth within all. Equally deserving of respect are people who maintain an agnostic or atheistic position. In fact, I wrote my dissertation in theology on the importance of interfaith dialogue. No one stance or tradition has a monopoly on the truth. We all have much to learn from one another. Clearly, we live in a time when what we share in common, rather than our differences, is a much-needed emphasis.
